Client Details

Tax Manager required for a leading Surrey based Higher Education organisation

Description

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance, you will be responsible for UK VAT and corporation tax compliance, and for influencing operational and strategic decisions through the provision of relevant, timely and accurate tax advice. This advisory role covers all taxes, including any relevant overseas taxes, other than employment taxes which are the responsibility of the Payroll Manager.

The role impacts on operations across the organisation, its subsidiary companies and joint ventures. As well as providing day to day guidance, you will engage with the business to identify emerging requirements and to identify changes in legislation and HMRC policy which may impact on the group.

Profile

You will be CCAB/CIMA and/or CTA qualified with a background in the private or public sector, or professional practice. VAT partial exemption experience; knowledge of the specific tax issues facing the higher education sector or the charitable sector; and/or an awareness of overseas tax issues gained through working in a global business, would be an advantage. However an enquiring and analytical mind, together with strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement, are more important than experience in any particular sector or field of tax. You will be professional, empathetic, have gravitas in your approach and be able to build strong working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues.

Job Offer

In return for your hard work, enthusiasm and the drive to make a difference, this organisation offer 32 days annual leave/closure days and a range of benefits including a generous pension scheme and discounted membership of a Sports Park not to mention working with a very friendly team
