Interim Financial Accountant - Italy

My client are looking for a qualified accountant that speaks fluent Italian, and has a strong understanding of Italian legislation and regulations that has been gained from working in an Italian subsidiary/company.

Description

My client require a hands-on, finance professional who is experienced in working in a small/medium sized Italian company, part of a multinational Group with Headquarters in UK. The main responsibilities are:

• Group reporting: ensure the reporting pack is produced accurately on a monthly basis inline with the Group's reporting timetable to allow for the consolidation of the Italian Subsidiary (P&L and Balance Sheet)
• Ensure reconciliation between local accounting and Group Reporting tools.
• Support in providing the monthly cash flow forecasting to allow the group to manage it's global cash position/requirement
• Statutory accounts liaison with the new outsource accounting firm. This accounting firm have been appointed in January 2021. This role is key to ensuring the effective communication to enable local compliance by supply the required information on a monthly basis
• Audit liaison: support in co-ordinating the 31/12/2020 year-end audit in line with the audit timetable
• Forecasting, Budgeting and Long Range Plan support: liaise with the Finance Manager, EMEA FD and Country Manager to facilitate accurate and understood forecasts to the Group
• Sales Invoicing: issuance/booking/interface upload, including upload to the e-invoice tax platform
• VAT accounting, including preparation of data for VAT and Intrastat submission
• Sales & COGS reconciliation, and issuance of receivables and payables statements
• Depreciation journal entries
• Supplier invoices booking
• Inventory reconciliations and monitoring of obsolete products
• Opex monitoring and analysis
• In combination with the outsource accountants, ensure compliance with Italian tax and reporting responsibilities
• Take on the attendance reporting and the communication to the external payroll consultant
• Staff costs booking
• Accounting of Intercompany Transactions. Monthly Reconciliation of Intercompany due to/due from and true up calculations

Profile

The successful candidate for this position must have the below skills:

• Several years experience operating in Italian companies
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Italian
• Good communicator across all levels - experience operating in teams across multiple countries, and with outsource accountants
• Experience in Italian Fiscal requirements
• Experience in budgeting/forecasting and financial analysis
• Qualified accountant with proven post-qualification track record in industry
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Strong in excel
