The Position

We are currently looking for a Payroll Manager to join our growing team at Arch.

The Payroll manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of multiple monthly payrolls, alongside providing technical payroll expertise into the design and implementation of a new cloud-based payroll system, Workday. This role requires accuracy, efficiency and an ability to advise on all stages of the payroll process. We are flexible with regards to location.

Job Responsibilities

• Take the lead in working with Workday Payroll implementation partner to provide design requirements for UK payroll set-up.
• Interpret current payroll working practices into the UK payroll design requirements identifying areas for improved efficiency.
• Lead work to test all system functionality.
• Provide technical input and support requirements capture inbound and outbound integrations for the Workday payroll project.
• Run monthly payroll process for multiple pay runs, initially supported by third party but moving to in-house solution.
• Work with the HR Operations team to ensure all payroll inputs are accurate.
• Receive approval from senior management for payments when needed
• Prepare and execute the payroll through the system including third party BACS solution
• Process taxes and payment of employee benefits
• Deal with all HMRC/pensions submissions and queries
• Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and managers
• Prepare reports for senior management, finance department etc.

• Proven experience of a lead role in designing, testing and implementing payroll (Workday payroll preferred or equivalent system)
• Experience of working in a demanding and busy environment, happy to work independently and handle processes end to end.
• Good knowledge and understanding of payroll and payroll regulations.
• Proven experience as a payroll manager of running all aspects of an inhouse payroll solution.

Desired Skills/Experience

• Workday Payroll trained desirable
• Strong business skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook

Education

• Payroll Qualification (CIPP or equivalent)
