Lead the development and coordination of a comprehensive business controls program for Landing Systems (LS) worldwide. This will include leading (ACA) accounting control assessment reviews; working with the business on resolution of controls issues and coordinating as appropriate with Internal Audit and/or our external auditors.

On a quarterly basis the candidate will lead quarterly reporting requirements (QAR) to Collins/ Mechanical Systems in the area of controls as well as supporting the financial reporting requirements for Landing Systems.

Additionally in this role the identified candidate will work with both Collins Central Controls and the RTX Center of Excellence teams on the administration of key control monitoring tools and work flows as well as leading efforts to modernize those tools for better use at Landing Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage organization's Sarbanes Oxley compliance efforts. This role will lead the SOX control processes including; risk assessment, gap assessment, documentation standards, testing efforts and issue remediation. Additionally, this role coordinates the SOX testing for Landing Systems - North America to ensure the approach is appropriate, roles are properly assigned and tests are completed appropriately and timely.
  • Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines. Ensure adherence to Raytheon Aerospace, Collins and LS accounting policies and practices.
  • Address specific training and development needs to fill compliance gaps in the organization. Areas of focus include account reconciliations, process documentation, policy requirements (i.e. travel, expenditures, etc.) and other areas as needed to continue to strengthen the organization's awareness of the control environment.
  • In conjunction with Mechanical Systems Accounting & Controls, lead efforts to ensure compliance with Accounting & Controls Assessments (ACA) requirements. This includes scheduling ACA's for all applicable LS entities, coordinating reviews, ensuring adequate preparation, completing all required documentation and driving issues identified to closure. In addition, serve as a liaison between internal and external auditors as required.
  • Coordinate and prepare various reporting requirements surrounding internal controls as requested by leadership.
  • Support quarterly financial reporting requirements/analysis as needed by the Financial Reporting team of Landing Systems. In addition, support requirements from Collins & Mechanical Systems, including, but not limited to the following: quarterly accounting reviews, annual hard close review, statutory reporting requirements and accounting deviation requests.
  • Actively participate on key Financial Controls teams including the Collins Accounting Controls Team. Partner with LS SAP Team to assist Digital Technology team on ensuring any IT related controls issues are remediated and resolved timely.
  • Support the Contracts Team with maintaining the LS Approval Matrix.
  • Act as subject matter expert to support the LS in the area of accounting and controls. Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes. Participate in continuous improvement (CI) events monthly to gain business knowledge.


Basic Qualifications
  • Approximately 10-15% travel, primarily domestic North American, but some international travel may be required.
  • Bachelor's degree required, if not in accounting or finance, then advance degree(s) in those areas required.
  • 5-10 years prior experience either in a manufacturing finance, general accounting or an audit function. Strong understanding of internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley requirements CPA and/or MBA a plus
