Roles and Responsibilities

The Planning and Methodologies team of Group Finance is responsible for i) the coordination and delivery of the group-wide budgets, plans and forecasts which includes the Group's annual Operational Plan and the annual Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and ii) the general development and management of management accounting policies and MIS methods for OCBC Group.
  • Support the department and management in the smooth co-ordination and execution of the Group's planning and forecasting rhythm including its long-range plans and annual budget
  • Work in partnership with business and support divisions and across the Group's overseas units / subsidiaries on corporate level exercises and initiatives
  • Lead in the execution of strategic analysis or change programs as may be relevant or required
  • Conceptualise, build and maintain various management accounting rules, processes and supporting guidelines, documentations required for the smooth operational execution of the Group's management accounting and MIS ecosystem
  • Support the management, administration and operational delivery of the Group's planning and forecasting system (Hyperion) during the Group's budget and forecasting cycles
  • Drive relevant changes, upgrades and enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the planning processes and collateral systems
  • Assume subject matter expertise on specific domains as may be required including collaboration recognition, investment appraisals, management reporting, performance management standards or management accounting treatments etc

Qualifications
Requirements
  • A good university degree preferably in business and finance (e.g. Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Economics, Business Administration etc. and ideally with a professional accounting designation (e.g. CA, CPA, ACMA)
  • At least 10 to 15 years' relevant experience in the banking industry, in Management Accounting/ Business Controlling / Planning and Analysis or similar function with some years in a senior business partnership role. Substantive market and industry knowledge gained from roles within different lines of businesses in the financial services sector would be a strong advantage
  • Strong competencies in management accounting and managerial finance concepts applicable to banking including funds transfer pricing, revenue and expense management, costs allocations, performance metrics/ratios, financial models, balance sheet and capital management etc. supported by a sound foundational knowledge of financial accounting, tax, risk and banking industry regulations with a demonstrable track record as a practitioner
  • Working level knowledge of ICAAP and/or Basel regulations would be advantageous
  • Strong and wide professional knowledge of various EPM/CPM tools in use in the financial services industry particularly Hyperion (Hyperion Planning) and/or Oracle. Candidates with experience in design and implementation of planning systems and methods would have a strong advantage
  • Familiarity and strong adeptness with Office applications and BI tools such as Qlikview, Hyperion Essbase or its equivalent is expected
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across the group's network
  • Adaptability and agility with the ability to have a broad perspective
  • Professional resilience and maturity
