Job Description & Summary

A career in Finance, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help PwC in all aspects of our Finance internal function including financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and assisting leadership with overall strategy. You’ll focus on recording and analysing financial transactions, paying and receiving invoices, maintaining financial statement ledger accounts, and preparing analysis and reconciliations of bills to detect fraud.

Our Finance Operations team manages PwC’s financial risk through financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and tactical consulting. As a part of our team, you’ll assist us with budgeting, reporting, business operations, domestic and international accounting operations, and finance strategy.

As an Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

  • Collate regional payroll changes and correctly update the payroll software within deadline; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to firm policy
  • Liaise with cross territory Human Capital teams and third-party administrators 
  • Prepare monthly multi-currency payroll related journals 
  • Regional payroll variance reporting 
  • Reconciliation of payroll related balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare monthly detailed year to date payroll cost vs budget analysis
  • Payment and reconciliation of monthly statutory and third-party obligations 
  • Prepare and distribute year end TD4’s
  • Prepare regional bonus accruals and year end vacation accruals
  • Filing and retention of statutory payments 
  • Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies

Preferred skills

  • Solid knowledge of payroll legislation, policies and regulations
  • Respects and maintains confidentiality of staff and firm information
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in data entry and management
  • Organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines

Minimum years experience required

  • Minimum requirement: minimum Associate degree in Finance and/or 1-2 years relevant experience
  • Pursuing an international accounting designation would be an asset
  • Ability to use data analytics software 
  • Proficient in the use of Google Workspace
