The Role Responsibilities

  • Accountable for ensuring adequate financial controls and balance sheet management - with a focus on the cross-border recharges accruals, prepayments, hardware and software development spend
  • Ensures the Functions Finance position in Financial Control System is appropriately reflected and fully substantiated; provides resolution for any cases of unmapped ABDOs; focuses on any 'at risk' submissions
  • Monitors any ongoing Functions Finance sample reviews performed by GFORP Quality Assurance or R2R Controllers
  • Actively contributes to the process improvement initiatives across Functions Finance and the Bank; challenges legacy practices
  • Acts as a bridge across the T+I finance team, various GFS R2R sub teams, GFS P2P, GFP&A, country finance, tax, transfer pricing, technical accounting teams etc
  • Plays a lead role in any audits, regulatory reporting requirements, tax / transfer pricing matters and obligations.
  • Ongoing review of the policies and standards that are relevant to Functions Finance
  • A member of various finance forums representing Functions Finance (e.g. Singapore's Finance Operational Risk Team Meetings)
  • Support for tight control and management of reporting hierarchies and appropriate booking of costs across chart of accounts.
  • Responsible for management of SLAs for Functions Finance.
  • Works in partnership with Investment Finance team to manage and improve controls for project accounting and support various initiatives such as impairment reviews, R&D claims etc.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • T&I MT; Country Finance, Business Finance, Record to Report GPO teams and Group FP&A


Our Ideal Candidate

  • Familiarity with SCB finance processes and systems
  • Be able to constructively challenge and influence where appropriate to ensure the overall goals of the business and the bank are aligned
  • Strong SCB finance network, particularly with country finance teams and the Record to Report finance teams (highly desirable)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex messages quickly and succinctly to various senior stakeholders
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Advanced use of finance systems such as SAP, Hyperion etc.
  • Qualified chartered accountant with >10 years post qualification experience.
  • Degree qualified with at least 10 years of prior experience in financial controls / balance sheet management and performance management control frameworks.
