The Role Responsibilities

  • This role is within Technology in the Aspire Finance programme, and you will be expected to demonstrate the following skill sets:
  • Write functional and technical specifications or user stories for interfaces between bank and cloud-based vendor systems or vice versa. Experience of implementing different interface types preferable (file based, API).
  • Act as single point of contact with upstream or downstream system teams for ensuring interface requirements are understood, built against requirements, tested, implemented and delivered.
  • Preferable experience in integrating from Cloud systems (SaaS) to Bank Systems and vice versa, with a functional understanding of encryption
  • Able to map out end-to-end system flows in Visio or comparable tool and identify dependencies between steps. Assist in design of an optimised automated batch to reflect the process and meet SLAs, and work with development teams to implement and test. Highlight potential failure points, document and assign to relevant team for closure. Work with operations team and technology teams to document recovery from failure processes.
  • Proven ability to create data mapping documents from source-to-target and include the full transformation through each intermediate stage gate. Ability to create mappings for new interfaces and to retrofit for implemented interfaces using existing documents / system investigation in conjunction with technical team
  • Create operational / process artefacts to capture Centre of Excellence processes and socialise with operations / support staff, running training sessions
  • Critically review functional and technical specifications that others may have created and identify gaps regarding best practice and tracking those gaps to closure. Assist test team in designing test cases from those reviews, and critically review test results. Run test scenarios where appropriate.
  • Ability to understand application architecture and how connected components integrate with each other to deliver the platform and understand the technical or functional constraints of the connected system.
  • Assist in solution design and / or solution design reviews, critically evaluating the proposal and documenting options to capture pros and cons of different options so recommendations can be made
  • Strong data analytic skills, with the ability to understand queries. Perform reconciliations between multiple data sets, using excel or other to identify recon gaps such as different values in rows, deleted rows, added rows
  • Understand, document and review how a system implements security models including functional and data access privileges. Create security matrix to bank standards. Ensure alignment to the banks standard control tools such as Access Request Forms, Manager Access Review (One Cert) and privileged ID tools (One Vault), writing functional specification documents for interfaces.
  • Understand and review non-functional requirements (across custom-built code components and vendor software) and track alignment to bank standards. Integrating non-functional requirements with functional requirements to deliver a robust platform
  • Ability to understand technical specifications and functionality of custom-built logic / scripts and work with developers to identify and fix functional issues
  • Assist in driving code / configuration changes through the various environments to production, ensuring a timely delivery
  • Assist in reconciliation / operational process governance in Aspire COE
