Finance Manager

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Finance Manager based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Our client, a leader in their industry, is seeking an enthusiastic Finance Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be a seasoned finance professional equipped with a strong understanding of accounting processes as well as an enthusiasm for partnering with business operations to help the company in reaching its goals.

The Role:

• Provide strong financial leadership to regional management team through relevant reporting and MD+A, while supporting other company divisions as needed.
• Lead the timely reporting of data and monthly actuals review and complete submission of required financial reports to group level for consolidate.
• Create and maintain appropriate financial controls ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Participate in annual financial budget preparation, monthly revenue forecasting, and EBITDA.
• Manage payroll to ensure correct processing of vendor invoices, payable vouchers, and review and submission of quarterly/annual tax returns.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly sales and use tax returns while ensuring proper compliance with corporate and indirect taxation reporting.
• Assist with the implementation of the company's ERP system and help to identify areas for continuous improvement and data maintenance.
• Upkeep insurance requirements and contractor compliance databases, complete annual renewal declarations, and Workers Compensation coverage reporting.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Significant experience in finance management including accounting, banking, credit management, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Designated Accountant.
• Proficiency using ERP systems and office systems (ex. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical skills with a proven sense of initiative.
• A collaborative team player.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
