Group Finance Pune supports a number of CFO Functions and other Functions/Divisions globally and seeks to contribute to the overall objective of Group Finance in meeting its functional aspirations to be the best in delivering Core Finance, Divisional Finance and Legal Entity Finance services as defined by:
- Core Finance: consistent resource allocation framework, performance measurement and reporting transparency across the Group whilst maintaining excellence in control standards, integrity and independence
- Divisional Finance: Supporting Divisional CEOs in directing businesses towards financial goals through effective divisional resource allocation and optimization, strong financial management and transparency
- Legal Entity: driving increased focus on the legal entity view

The team comprises of over 750 finance professionals, with some global groups aligned from other locations in addition to the above.
The Group Finance Pune Expense Accounting and Control team comprises the following primary functions:
Expense Accounting: This function performs accruals, prepayment, receivables and recoverable accounting for Corporate Functions and Divisions including the Balance Sheet sign off for the respective accounts. The function also provides a view regarding month over month analysis with commentaries to all Corporate Functions and Divisional business associates. Cost re-classes, pool cost recharges and Lease accounting is also a part of this function’s mandate. Other priorities include partnering with functional finance heads and functional COO teams to drive functional priorities/objectives
Cost Reporting: Reporting on costs with specific focus on certain functions and cost lines is also one of the mandates of this team
Budget Transfers, Restatements and Reorganizations: The team acts as a conduit in effecting the budget transfers and restatements pertaining to Corporate Functions. The function also includes restructuring of financial hierarchy to reflect the most recent organization structure
Contingent Worker: The sub functions under this category include Contingent Worker creation and updation, Vendor Self Billing and Invoice validation & approval. The ownership of the IT systems where the Contingent Worker data is housed, is owned by this function. It is a big cost in the bank and therefore the function acts as a filter to ensure vendor invoices are in sync with the agreement terms, before the payment gets released to the vendor
Process Controller: This function supports the Process owner to manage the risks and performance of processes across EAC by establishing an effective & efficient measurement and control environment.
- This role is managing the Corporate Functions Expense Accounting team supporting the day to day management of the key processes within the function e.g. accruals, prepayments and certain receivables
- Ensuring adequate governance of activities, including supporting the regular review forums in the function for global teams, accrual ageing analysis, b/s reconciliation review, MoM variance analysis and reporting, accrual release tracking and reporting for SAB99
- SOX control documentation and key control review
- Provide support to the Manager in driving the objectives of the function
- Support the function head to devise new strategies for the team and driving them to action
- Direct responsibility and accountability for managing ~16 FTE including 4 AVP’s
- Appropriate communication and co-ordination regarding the ongoing projects in the function
- Together with the process controller drive the design and implementation of MIS/governance reporting, drive risk and control agenda
- Ensure Management reporting submissions, Senior management reviews and updates are managed on a timely basis
- Role also includes supporting the manager of the function in various departmental communications, as necessary
- Responsibilities will also include owning and managing some of the cross functional projects across Group Finance Pune
- Role will include ability to deliver organizational innovation agenda
- This role will involve significant co-ordination and contact with business partners and team members located in Zurich, Singapore, London and New York/Raleigh Durham. As a result there may be an impact on working hours as the role spans worldwide time zones.

- Chartered Accountant and a qualified accountant or Finance MBA
- Ability to understand and work with numbers, analytical and problem solving capability
- Financial services experience 10-12 years with strong expertise in financial and management accounting and reporting
- Overall experience in Finance 15+ years
- Ability to engage with Senior business partners globally
- Worked in a global / international environment along with prior experience in Accounting and Reporting roles
- Has experience in leading large and high performing teams
- Outstanding IT skills (Excel, Word, Power point etc.)
- End to End exposure of accounting and reporting processes
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills in English as the candidate would have to interact with stakeholders globally.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing situations
- You are ambitious, dedicated, hardworking and can work on own initiative whilst also working collaboratively and deliver on time with a high level of integrity, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards
