Job Information Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee. These positions are represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and are subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA. DEPARTMENT: Finance HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. LOCATION: City Hall; 632 W. 6th Avenue Example of Duties Maintain accounting records for the Municipal grant funds as assigned in accordance with governmental accounting standards and applicable federal and state grant regulations. Monitor Municipal Departments fulfilling their responsibilities of grant management while promoting proper usage of grant funds and accurate record keeping. Create and maintain grant information in the Municipality's enterprise resource planning system (SAP) based on information from Municipal departments and in accordance with grant awards. Upload and maintain grant budgets in accordance with information provided. Create grant financial reports and ensure that they are submitted in a timely manner. Perform year-end audit work papers, schedules and tables for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. Prepare schedules and other work papers for external auditors as part of annual Single Audit process. Participate in the preparation of Municipal Assembly documents. Apply professional judgment to identify and apply applicable standards of generally accepted accounting principles, Code of Federal Regulations and compliance supplements for compliance and proper accounting treatment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, Business Administration or a related discipline and three (3) years of professional accounting work experience. OR A certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and three (3) years of professional accounting work experience. OR Associate's degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, Business Administration or a related discipline and five (5) years of professional accounting work experience. OR High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and seven (7) years of experience in accounting, payroll, or similar office responsibility.
