About the Role

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Leading financial reporting, forecasting, including monthly reviews of financial metrics, analyzing variances, understanding key business drivers, and communicating findings to senior management.
• Acting as a key finance leader on a cross-functional and highly technical team.
• Executing process improvement initiatives and build scalable systems to support business growth.
• Building financial models to provide deeper insight into revenue and opex spending.
• Partner with business teams to drive optimization opportunities/initiatives and implement new business processes to improve operational efficiencies.
• Support AbeBooks WW subsidiary accounting controllership, internal controls review, and treasury and tax support.
About You
This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. The role also has regular interaction with various business units across AbeBooks and Amazon and requires strong people skills.

Required Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
• 7+ years relevant experience in positions that require financial planning, analysis and reporting
• 7+ years of proven familiarity with concepts of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Demonstrated financial acumen and/or analytical experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and drive projects to completion.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong problem solving skills and the ability to deal with ambiguity.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, often cross-functionally.
• Excellent verbal & written communications skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional certification (CPA/Qualified Accounting certificate) and/or MBA with relevant experience
• Skills to earn trust from business partners, and drive cross-organization changes.
• 2+ years as a Finance Leader/Manager or equivalent experience leading a team
• Experience with SQL, Tableau, TM1/COGNOS
• Experience in multinational, foreign currency operations.
