You will be placed in strategic positions with frequent exposure to senior leaders, businesses and technologies. You will have the ability to make meaningful contributions to the company and help people live healthier lives. This role in the OSGS team supports system analysis and business analysis to provide innovative products and services for the healthcare market. It plays a pivotal role in the system development cycle and consults with end users to evaluate business requirements into design specifications. This role may also work in the analysis phase of the system development cycle and consult with users to evaluate business requirements, identify operating procedures, evaluate existing or proposed systems and prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Primary Responsibilities: Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications Computer science, IT, analytics, Mathematics – other relevant roles for BA roles You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location, however, may be required to work from home temporarily due to space limitations Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group–approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained Preferred Qualifications 3.0 cumulative GPA Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite knowledge (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint etc) Degree concentration in Business, Health Administration, Technology, or related field Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle Basic understanding of the following: Basic Programing Skills Good documentation skills Great communicator working with cross functional teams Agile environment or familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology Modeling and analyzing business processes Writing Specifications System Design, Test Planning & Design Performance Testing & User Acceptance Testing Excellent written and verbal communication skills Careers with Optum.
