David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for a Senior Accountant.
Are you an ambitious individual looking to get ahead in your career? Would you like to find a company where the opportunities are constrained only by your own potential? If this describes you and you are open to the adventure of working in Canada's far north then read on.
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant will help direct the day to day activities of the accounting team providing mentorship and ensuring timely and smooth financial operations. In addition, you will be looked upon to help deliver robust financial reporting specific to contribution agreements as well as involvement across the full financial cycle including the development of financial processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include managing all aspects of contribution agreement accounting for the organization, supporting management in business planning and managing various internal accounting processes. Additionally, the role will participate in ad hoc accounting projects to utilize financial systems to create efficiencies and support the Corporate Controller in producing periodic financial statements and management information. The team has a structure that will allow the successful individual to target their career according to areas they may be keen to develop such as consolidations, tax and working with operations.
Our client is a unique organization in the north and has developed a strong reputation in the region as a leading employer with excellent benefits as well as a focus on encouraging the individual to succeed and grow and a highly enjoyable, collaborative culture.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a degree, a professional accounting designation as well as experience in a public accounting firm and/or a reasonably complex private/public company.
To succeed and thrive in the role the successful candidate will require a strong attention to detail, a collaborative approach and the ability to build successful relationships both within the finance function and external operations. Strong systems skills including above average Excel skills will be valued.
Salary and Benefits: A generous package with both northern and vacation allowances is available as well as employer pension contributions and full relocation support. Only current residents of Canada will be considered as our client is looking to fill this role immediately.
