Description

As the Assistant Accountant based from Woking, Surrey (currently working from home) you will be responsible for

The position will have a key role in providing accurate financial reporting and accounting support. Key responsibilities include month end accounting and balance sheet reconciliations. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working closely with the rest of the core financial reporting team, this role is key and will suit someone interested in progressing in a fast paced environment

    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • Month end accounting, adhering to the necessary timelines
    • Month end payroll & benefits journals
    • Calculate and post the monthly salary & bonus accruals
    • Monitor and action credit control e mail inboxes including processing invoice requests and any other internal questions from the business
    • Raise sales invoices and work with customer invoicing processes and portals
    • Update the aged debtors and invoicing schedules
    • Contact customers and chase down receipts (credit control)
    • Monthly analysis of legal, subscriptions, repairs & maintenance, etc
    • Continual process improvement
    • Backup for Accounts Payable
    • Posting other ad-hoc journals as requested

Profile

  • Accounting experience relevant to the responsibilities
  • Ideally AAT part- qualified or equivalent with interest in pursuing a further designation such ACCA or CIMA, people not studying also considered
  • The ability to collaborate and work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to rapid change
  • A proven strength in building great relationships and working with a broad range of finance/non finance individuals at all levels
  • An ability to produce accurate, reliable and high quality work independently and in a timely manner
  • The confidence and willingness to challenge the status-quo
  • A professional, "get it done" attitude and work ethic
  • The desire to learn, develop and succeed

Job Offer

£23,000 - £26,000

25 days Holiday

4% pension

Discretionary bonus up to 5%

Open to Study Support after probation period

Parking when based back in the office (currently working from home)
