Description
The key responsibilities to this Number 2 Financial Controller role based in Lancashire will be as follows:
- Management of the team of 10
- Developing key working relationships with senior stakeholders such as the FD, Commercial Director including the FD and Commercial Director and other none finance divisions
- Cash management & cashflow forecasting
- Overseeing all management and statutory reporting, including ownership of the balance sheet, production of monthly and quarterly board reports and the financial controls of this part of the group
- Working closely with the central financial reporting, tax, treasury and transactional processing teams to ensuring the Group Reporting timetables are adhered to
- Providing ad-hoc analysis as required by the business unit and for group reporting purposes
- On-going improvement of financial reporting and control processes, including development of divisional financial reporting processes
- Forecasting and other scenario based analysis
- Management of overhead costs including playing a key role in ensuring the integrity of overhead budgets and forecasts and identifying areas of savings / efficiencies
- Working with the Group Tax teams to ensure tax compliance for corporate tax, VAT, CIS, PSA and R&D purposes
- Implementation of the finance transformation programme including the implementation of a new ERP system
- Analysing sector trends and challenging the integrity of reported figures
Profile
The successful candidate for this diverse Financial Controller role will be as follows:
- Ideally ACA qualified, big 4 trained (preferred but not essential)
- Prior team management experience; a proven ability to develop & coach finance teams
- Very strong technically; able to report to group in an accurate and timely manner
- Preferably understand IFRS
- Able to show an ability to drive systems / process changes and improvements
- Able to build brilliant working relationships with colleagues from group finance and with commerical stakeholders
- A team player who is able to lead audits / improve financial controls
Job Offer
This varied Financial Controller role can offer a salary of £70,000 - £90,000 dependent on experience, plus a range of other benefits.
