This position will report to the Head of Finance, Singapore who in turn has a functional reporting line into the Head of Wealth Finance based in London and the Chief Executive Officer in Singapore. The key responsibilities of this role include:

Job Summary:
  • Support overall accounting function of Schroder & Co. (Asia) Limited
  • Preparation of all regulatory returns and surveys
  • Liaise with Finance at Service Centre in Zurich on the outsourced accounting function
  • Liaise with Auditors for work coordination during their visit


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare all regulatory returns and surveys to various internal and external stakeholders including MAS, Department of Statistics and IRAS.
  • Coordinate with AP outsource team to ensure smooth transition and timely deliverables
  • Maintenance of Fixed asset records, including addition, disposal and depreciation
  • Monitor invoicing, posting and settlement of intercompany transactions
  • Assist in monthly closing procedure in Oracle, including input and postings of journals, accruals and prepayment and liaising with Service Centre on migration of data
  • Variance analysis on monthly result after month end close
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation and audit schedules
  • Liaison with Auditors and provision of information and documents as requested
  • Maintaining appropriate procedures and control framework around the accounting and reporting processes
  • Identify and implement improvements to the accounting controls and processes
  • Other ad-hoc tasks or projects when required


Skills
  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent;
  • At least 5 to 8 years of experience in accounting and financial control environment;
  • Strong knowledge of MAS regulatory reporting requirements for the banking industry;
  • Good understanding of the Singapore and regional financial industry practices and requirements, in particular wealth management business;
  • Be able to interact with internal and external stakeholders and to understand cross cultural differences;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Commitment, energy and good analytical skills;
  • Ability to work on multiple deliverables concurrently and under own initiative;
  • Experience in T24 and Oracle is preferable, but not essential
