We have teamed up with an established Financial Services client to hire a Senior Accountant based in their offices in Reading. This is a genuinely unique opportunity to be part of an expanding global business that will offer the ability to apply technical knowledge to practical scenarios.
Key responsibilities will involve
* Accountable for a portfolio of clients, taking ownership of deliverables including the completion of monthly client management accounts.
* Oversight and preparation of VAT returns, corporation tax returns, P11ds etc.
* Managing the year end process including the drafting of financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS
* Liaising with clients and auditors in connection with the signing of the financial statements in line with designated deadlines.
* Supervising and training junior staff in respect of all accounting deliverables.
* Provide technical accounting guidance and ad hoc project support where required.
Ideal candidate
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with demonstrable understanding of accounting
* Strong technical knowledge and ability to apply it in practical situations.
* Ability to work autonomously and can prioritise workloads
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills
* First rate oral and written communication skills
