The Internal Audit Group protects AIG through assurance work and partners with stakeholders to provide objective advice and insight. The group assists the Corporation in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of AIG's control environment, including risk management, operational, internal control, and governance processes. In addition, we proactively engage with stakeholders by monitoring progress of transformation/change initiatives and provide valuable advice and insight that contributes to moving these initiatives forward.

About the role

What you need to know:

Collaborate with AIG business area and functional stakeholders, IAG and other assurance teams to:
  • Assist the audit teams in identifying and analyzing the inherent risks in AIG's underwriting, claims, operations as well as functions and the controls that management have implemented to mitigate their risks
  • Assist in the development of individual audits to ensure that audit projects and stakeholders focus on key risks and controls
  • Participate in the development and execution of a risk-based audit plan and lead the full audit lifecycle (planning, testing of controls, and issue verification) for individual audit engagements with focus on the Greater China (China and Hong Kong) region audit programs
  • Collaborate across different global functional audit teams to provide for an integrated and coordinated approach to insurance risks and audit testing
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness and value of IAG by recommending and developing innovative approaches and solutions (e.g., the use of data analytics, automation, and Agile audit methodology)
  • Monitor continuously the risks and developments of the business as well as audit issues tracking and verification and provide input into audit planning decision.


What we're looking for:
  • 5+ years of internal auditexperience, preferably in insurance industry
  • A certified professional designation (e.g. CIA, CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CPA) is preferred
  • Proactive approach to learning the insurance industry and related functions and products
  • Ability to identify and evaluate key risks and controls across different business processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with and provide constructive feedback to stakeholders, and other colleagues
  • Effective time management skills, coordinate and prioritize competing initiatives while meeting deadlines
  • Exhibit professional skepticism and curiosity
  • Team player mentality and holds self-accountable for the success of the team
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with leveraging the use of data analysis tools (e.g. ACL, MS Access)
  • Experience working in the financial services/insurance industries, including relevance of key applicable laws and regulations
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in Mandarin as the role requires the Chinese language capability to work on China audits
