About the Department
The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.
Job Responsibilities
A new senior role in Wholesale Banking Loans Operations with key focus on operational processes, risk assurance and governance. As part of driving improvements and solutions to manage process and risks within the function, the role will help to oversee the change initiatives of the department. Exercise oversight of the overseas subsidiaries and branches to achieve standardisation of practices in managing risks and enable business growth.

Assurance & Control
- Undertake a first line of defense role in operational risk control and assurance in the Loans Operations Department.
- Develop and enhance the governance and risk management framework of the department
- Ensure timely and quality compliance with the Bank's operational risk policy, framework and procedure requirements
- Provide quality assurance that includes identifying operational risks in key processes, control testing, establishing risk indicators/ key control standards for monitoring risk management and minimize the Bank's exposure to losses and frauds.
- Collaborate with the processing teams to strengthen the control environment, improve processes and procedures (including automation and systems controls)
- Deliver coaching, briefing and presentation to staff and embed risk awareness and sound risk management practices in Loans Operations
Support (Initiatives & Change Management)
- Assist the Department Head and jointly with the processing teams to identify potential areas for changes to business processes, systems and technology, automation and digitization, job roles and segregation
- Develop business requirements and change requests in support of systems change initiatives
- Implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance.
- Track and measure benefit realization, value creation and the achievement of results and outcomes.
- Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities
Job Requirements
- A degree holder
- At least 10 years' experience in wholesale banking loans operations with senior level exposure to operational risk management and driving change initiatives in loans operations
- Good knowledge of banking practices, operations and procedures.
- Good understanding and knowledge of operational risk and internal control principles.
- Good judgment, mature, independent, responsible and detail-minded.
- Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
- Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
- Forward looking with a holistic approach
- Possess leadership qualities and a high level of influencing and interpersonal skills
- A self-starter with initiative and a strong drive to achieve quality work
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to moderate style and delivery as appropriate
- Comfortable in data handling and analysis
- Proficient in MS Office suite of applications
