Accounting/Finance - Senior GST Accountant / Assistant Manager GST
Job Description
Assisting in managing the tax risk of SIA Group by reviewing contracts/agreements to ensure that a favourable tax position is in place; helping with tax optimization through identifying and evaluating tax saving opportunities; assisting in other tax related matters including statutory tax reporting, tax advisory, tax planning and tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be joining our Taxation Department, assisting in overseeing the Company's and its subsidiaries' global taxation matters, reporting to and working in close collaboration with Vice President Taxation.
• Assist with the preparation and review of the worksheets and GST returns to be submitted to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore ("IRAS").
• Continuously review and provide advice on the GST compliance processes, as well as identify streamlining/automation opportunities and formulate/implement solutions.
• Assist with the preparation of replies to the queries raised by IRAS.
• Provide advice on the Singapore GST implications of business transactions, contracts and agreements.
• Assist with periodic GST health checks on the GST returns of the GST Group.
• Provide implementation/post-implementation support for GST/VAT at overseas branches.
• Assist with the performance of ASK reviews and application/renewal of the ACAP status.
• Assist with the identification of GST risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Requirements
• Possess a good university degree, preferably with Honours in Accounting, Finance or Economics or an equivalent professional qualification recognised by ISCA and/or SiATP.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years Singapore GST experience, ideally with a Big 4 Accounting Firm and/or Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.
• Able to work independently, collaboratively and under tight deadlines.
• Possess strong interpersonal, research, analytical and report writing skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and written/spoken English.
