My client are looking for a proactive and experienced accounts assistant to come in and be responsible for the entire accounts payable process, alongside taking on other duties such as getting involved in the management accounts. The position will be covering a maternity leave and therefore will be ongoing for between 9 and 12 months, with the possibility of going permanent at the end of this period.

Description

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring supplier and staff expenses are paid in a timely manner
  • Processing invoices onto SAP daily, matching to purchase orders and coding to the nominal ledger
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Weekly payment runs
  • Setting up new users on the finance system
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Banking
  • Assisting with month end procedures - accruals, journals, prepayments

Profile

The successful candidate will have an all rounded finance background in a similar role with a solid understanding of Accounts Payable and the ability to pick things up quickly. They will have used an ERP system (SAP is desirable) and be confident on Excel, using functions such as Lookups and filtering data.

The accounts assistant will have great interpersonal skills and be organised and timely in their approach, potentially embarking on the early stages of their accountancy qualification (preferably CIMA). They will be on a short notice or immediately available and be within commuting distance of Edgware.
