Assistant Accountant
Garforth
Hours 37.5 hours per week
9am - 5pm with 30 mins for lunch
Skillection's commercial division are working with a small boutique practice based just minutes off the M1 in Garforth, working from modern and bright offices.
The team are passionate proactive accountants and are keen to deliver a high quality of service to their clients.
Due to continued growth and exciting plans they are looking to add a full time Accounts Assistant to their sociable team.
What we are looking for:
This role is to provide support to the accountants, as they provide services to fee paying clients who could be private individuals, sole traders, small/medium limited companies, partnerships, LLP's, CIC's or public sector organisations.
This role is varied and includes preparing working papers and accounts, Corporation Tax returns, VAT returns and Self-Assessment Tax returns.
You will be required to profitably deliver work across a portfolio of clients, working with the team to ensure the highest possible standards of client service always. Typically getting involved in:
* Preparation of trading accounts
* Preparation of VAT returns
* Preparation of Corporation tax returns
* Preparation of Personal tax returns
* Maintaining records and management information
* Attendance at events and seminars promoting the business
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* AAT qualified and studying towards an ACCA qualification would be ideal, but if you are Qualified by experience then you will still be considered. Study support is available
* Minimum of 2 years practice experience
* Commercially aware
* Well-developed people skills to relate to clients and colleagues
* Very good organisational and time management skills
* Competent understanding of Microsoft Word & Excel
* QuickBooks, Xero, Sage and payroll software experience highly desired
* Very good analytical thinking and problem solver
* Acute attention to detail
* Understands Data Protection
