Our client is a wealth management company in the City of London, highly recognised with a fantastic reputation.

The Role:

The Trainee Investment Manager will support the Wealth Management Investment Managers who are a part of the Model Portfolio Service team by helping to run portfolios.

Deal with IFA queries relating to literature and platform queries, in addition to any ad hoc queries from IFAs on performance, access to portfolios, analysis on portfolios and valuations.

The Trainee Investment Manager will assist with trading on multi-asset funds (managing liquidity on a daily basis) on behalf of the Wealth Management company.

Evaluating Investment portfolios and supplementing fund research.

The Trainee Investment Manager will make client payments on an ad hoc basis, prepare asset sheet every morning and assist with ad-hoc projects as directed.

The Trainee Investment Manager will send performance updates to the Wealth Management companies IFAs on a regular basis.

Prepare supporting documentation for meetings including presentations, factsheets and writing commentary.

The Trainee Investment Manager will provide support on the administration for the wider Model Portfolio Service team when necessary.

Assist the Investment Manager team with all aspects of the Wealth Management companies client contact, including ongoing and regular reporting requirements and ad-hoc reporting requirements.

Provide analytics for the Investment Manager team, including performance, risk analysis from Morningstar.

The Trainee Investment Manager will be responsible for the production of reports and presentations for existing and prospective IFAs and will monitor portfolios content and performance for the Investment Managers.

Keep abreast of all relevant developments in the financial services and most particularly the Wealth Management industry and any regulatory changes which may affect the team.

The Trainee Investment Manager will help support Investment Managers in generating investment ideas by conducting data analysis/research

The Candidate:

At least 2 years previous experience in a similar Front Office environment, ideally within Wealth Management, with a good understanding of operational processes.

Level 4 qualified and ideally working towards level 6 or level 7 qualification.

Good understanding of the IFA / Platform market.

Takes initiative for their own work within an understood framework of scope and authority.

Acts at all times in a professional manner.

Undertakes other tasks or specific project work as and when requested by the Investment Managers
