In a nutshell

To develop, embed and maintain systems, data, process and governance changes arising from our future finance and cross divisional programmes ensuring a smooth transfer from each of our projects into business as usual. Work directly with the Programme Team to ensure business change does not compromise the financial and data integrity of our various finance applications and complies with the controls framework through effective management of subject matter expertise the team. Lead the delivery of the systems, data and controls work stream receiving all changes impacting finance systems and processes. Seamlessly transfer this back in to our systems team and provide operational management while this is embedded.

What you need to do

• Develop the Future Finance Systems Governance in preparation for the adoption of a new Chart Of Accounts (COA) and reporting framework in 2021;
• Develop, implement and maintain the finance systems daily, weekly, monthly, annual processes, ensuring full compliance across the Group.
• Working closely with financial control to incorporating process design controls and operational testing.
• Maintain the Chart of Accounts developing a robust framework to adopt and communicate change to our wider business programmes.
• Develop the process and governance for restatement of accounts to new COA.
• Support both financial control and systems data control teams on the audit of all financial systems change and access controls.
• Collaborate on COA design and facilitate support and training to all Finance colleagues;
• Provide guidance on implementation of controls across ad hoc projects;
• Review and maintain the Finance systems change process
• Provide strong leadership to the systems data and control team;

What you need to know and show

• Qualified accountant
• Prior experience working within Finance Transformation and have expert knowledge of Chart of Accounts framework.
• Deep experience of financial transaction accounting and reporting with associated control principles/methodologies
• Deep experience of financial systems and control principles/methodologies
• Ability to support and embed change arising from finance and cross divisional programmes
• Possess strong technical skills with the ability to articulate functional and financial requirements to technical development and engineering teams.
• Possess strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with relevant business areas and programme team leads
• Ability to be proactive in engaging with the programme leads and motivate and influence others
• Have business process and controls mapping experience
• Proven effective leadership of teams

• Direct our internal finance systems expertise where further control and process improvements are required
• Recommend immediate changes to process, flow through design authority and embed them
• Determine approach to process efficiencies
