Finance Reconciliations Administrator - West Kent - Accounting and Finance - Commerce and Industry

Client Details

The Assistant Payroll Accountant will support the Group Payroll Manager in accurately, effectively and consistently processing the payroll reconciliations and general ledger postings for all group payrolls within agreed timetables. The individual will also work with the Divisional Management Accountants to ensure all aspects of payroll are accurately accounted for.

Description

  • The role is responsible for:
  • Preparing and posting payroll journals for each weekly and monthly payroll across the group.
  • Reconciling the general ledger balances in relation to payroll control accounts across all group companies on a monthly basis and ensuring management accountants have access to supporting reconciliations.
  • Ensuring company accounting records agree to the payroll systems (Sage / Advanced), HMRC, Pension providers and other third-party systems.
  • Preparing all third-party payments arising from payroll in a timely manner including PAYE / NI, pension contributions, attachment of earnings payments.
  • Responding to third party requests for payroll references e.g. Mortgage requests, HMRC requests for information
  • Production of payroll analysis spreadsheets for payroll, finance and business department review including regular and ad-hoc requirements.
  • Responding to audit queries relating to payroll.
  • Supporting the Year End and interim audit processes as required.
  • Developing processes, procedures and controls in relation to payroll accounting, reconciliations and third-party payments.

  • HMRC Reconciliations
  • Data Analysis
  • Confident Accounting System and Excel User
  • Part qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA/ ACA) or minimum Level 3 AAT
  • Experience of payroll accounting and reconciliations.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Positive enthusiastic approach with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to thrive on working to tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Works well as part of a team whilst taking ownership of individual role
  • This role would suit a candidate with a strong Accounts Reconciliations background
