Export Engineer

Would you like to gain experience within the exciting and challenging International Trade Solutions Team? We currently have a vacancy for an Export Engineer at our site in Samlesbury.

As an Export Engineer, you will be required to meet the increasingly complex needs for the physical delivery of Air Sector assets for existing and emerging international customers. You will also contribute to the reporting within the company framework and for the escalation of all business issues relating to import and export operations.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to gain import/export operational experience across all Air platforms including US Programmes and Europe & International

Your main responsibilities as an Export Engineer will involve:

Planning and implementing the importing/exporting deliveries of military equipment under current legislation.

Ensuring compliance to regulatory, legislative and contractual requirements and adhering to UK trade controls, delivery terms and their implementation.

Liaising with customers and other internal or external bodies (e.g. - freight forwarders) on Import or Export matters.

Ensuring governance and compliance in regard to the physical delivery of customer and BAE Systems' assets are always considered.

Ensuring the financial element of import/export operations are considered at every opportunity.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Professionally qualified in an international trade discipline or equivalent experience with supply chain and management

Solid applied knowledge of international trade management matters with good experience of applying up to date export techniques.

Strong attention to detail skills

Good team player but have that ability to work your own

Desirable:

Ideally be a member of the institute of Export

Experience in Supply Chain and Logistics

Working knowledge of the international delivery of explosives, weapons related equipment and hazardous goods.

You will be an excellent communicator and have proven problem solving abilities and a positive approach to support continuous improvement initiatives. You will be able to think outside the box and execute clear instructions.
