Aon are currently recruiting a Business Analyst to join the UK Data & Analytics team in Chelmsford or to work remotely (UK - Virtual). The Business Analyst will be responsible for partnering with colleagues across Aon UK to understand requirements, problems and opportunities and to deliver high quality data and analytics solutions.
The UK Data & Analytics team works with consumers across Management, Sales, Marketing, Broking, Finance, Operations and Risk/Compliance to develop and deliver market leading management information, data and analytics solutions to meet the business's strategic client, operational, financial and risk objectives.

About the Role
Your key responsibilities will involve;
Lead and translate business strategies and objectives into business requirements and functional specifications to enable the design and delivery of data and analytic solutions.
Capture & analyse data and reporting business requirements and convert these into User Stories with clear acceptance criteria. Ensure development team has a clear & complete understanding of the requirements.
Analyse and document "as is" process and model the "to be" business processes and produce documentation to support BI solution design. Define, model and document reporting solutions and data integrations.
Evaluate internal and external customers' needs and abilities to provide appropriate solutions.
Explore the data and discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends. Perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various platforms.
Build relationships with senior stakeholders, working closely with business, operational and finance teams.
Provide leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating information gathering, structured documentation and presentation of findings to all levels of management.
Conduct/facilitate acceptance tests for solutions with users, including development of UAT test scenario and test scripts.
Develop and deliver training and supplemental materials
Advises executives on how BI (processes, practices and technologies) play a critical role in improving business management and optimization.
Participates in workstream planning process including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of BI solutions.
Develops work plans or reviews other work plan timelines and manages workflows to meet timeframes.
Identifies and provides input to new technology opportunities that will have an impact on the enterprise wide BI systems.
Researches business problems and creates models that help analyse these business problems.
Perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various platforms.
You will be responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.
About you
As a Business Analyst your skills and qualifications will include;
Good knowledge of SQL.
Agile Development Methodology.
Strong Excel knowledge.
Experience of Data Visualisation tools e.g. Power BI, Qlikview, Tableau.
Financial Services or Insurance Industry sector experience preferred.
Able to express technical and business concepts, ideas, feelings, opinions, and conclusions orally and in writing.
Proven experience of gathering and analysing information/data on current and future trends of best practice.
Able to identify and address existing and potential obstacles, issues and opportunities.
Able to build relationships with senior stakeholders, working closely with business, operational and finance teams.
