Job Description & Summary

A career within our Barbados and East Caribbean (EC) Advisory Services - Business Recovery and Insolvency, will provide you the opportunity to work in the corporate restructuring team based in Barbados. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of a sizeable portfolio of corporate insolvencies, including receivership, bankruptcies and liquidations. The candidate will also be involved in managing and performing business reviews. There will also be an opportunity to assist in the Deals Transaction area helping organisations realise the potential of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and capital markets.

Preferred skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel advanced functions, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, including financial statements as well as the ability to compute and interpret ratios and trends
  • Proven ability to conduct economic and market research, in order to articulate the landscape within which the client operates
  • Proven ability to proactively manage and progress a sizeable caseload of receiverships and liquidations from pre-appointment planning stages to closure
  • Demonstrated expertise in setting and implementing asset realization and case management strategies
  • Proficient in managing, coaching, supporting and organizing restructuring staff
  • A strong working knowledge of statutory requirements

Minimum years experience required

  • At least 10 years sound experience in a finance; commercial, related environment or with a Big 4 Firm or equivalent performing restructuring and insolvency related work

Education Level 

Minimum qualifications: 

  • Degree in Accounting, Economics, Strategy, Finance, Business Management; or a related field from a recognised university
  • Internationally recognised designation such as ACA/ACCA/CA/CPA

Additional Qualifications / Certification: 

  • Internationally recognised designations such as CBV, ABV or CFA will be an asset

Other details: 

  • A confident communicator and presenter who is comfortable interacting at all levels
  • Personal flexibility to facilitate travel on international and cross border assignments in the Caribbean area
  • Ability to speak a second language would be an asset
