Assistant Inventory Accountant

Would you like to a part of a team that can create new processes and identify better ways of working, driving efficiencies? We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Inventory Accountant at our site in Warton

As Assistant Accountant for Inventory, you will be part of the Europe & International Inventory Team, providing financial and decision-making support, as well as ensuring the appropriate governance and controls are applied.

In addition, the role supports wider activities in the central reporting team with month end closure activities, IBP submissions and liaising with both internal and external auditors. The role also includes playing a key role in the operation of the Air Stock Working Group.

Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Inventory Accountant will involve:

Ensuring the appropriate Governance & Control is applied to Inventory Management, largely via interaction with the Procurement and Logistics functions. Specifics include:

Monitoring, challenging and ultimately transacting stock adjustments/cost pegged transfers raised outside of Finance

Ensuring adherence to a Perpetual Inventory count schedule, attending where deemed necessary and ensuring all adjustments are approved and processed

Assist on FCFA/External Audit Activities & Recommendations and provide support to outstanding ERP Recovery Activities

Ensuring any Service Level Agreements with 3rd parties are adhered to with regards Inventory Management (e.g. Wincanton)

Monitoring DLF (Direct Line Feed) stock levels compared to the future order book

Ensuring Process & Controls Documentation are topical and within Governance

Delivering key projects to internal stakeholders such as the Financial Controller and/or the Finance Director

Accounting and Reporting E&I Stock through the preparation of monthly stock reports and balance sheet accounts.

Monitoring MAUC levels (Moving Average Unit Cost)

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Either a part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA etc.) and/or have proven work experience working within a Finance role.

The Ability to communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders as you need to demonstrate the ability to challenge and influence Senior members of the team

Able to work Autonomously in order to meet strict deadlines

Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word etc. within a professional capacity

Desirable:

Experience of using ERP systems such as LN, TM1 etc.

Salary: £32,660
