This position reports directly to the Regional Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for directing, administering and coordination of policies and procedures related to finance and investment management, safeguarding of assets, compliance with internal controls, and serving as the regional FP&A leader. The regional finance director has primary responsibility for the region's planning and management reporting activity.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Principal accountability for the management financial reporting process for the operating group - analyze and communicate all financial data related to the country's operations, including budgets, forecasts, financial statements, monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting, and ad-hoc financial reports.
- Consolidates and analyzes all APAC level reporting in support of Corporate requirements.
- Financial policies implementation and direction - establish all financial policies, procedures, and systems including real estate operations, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, cash management and ensuring compliance with all fiscal conditions.
- Provides strategic and financial counsel on business processes & practices that produce profitable business unit growth and maximizes return on capital employed.
- Partners with business unit management to anticipate industry future direction and correlates with future business strategies.
- Coordinate timely reviews of the operating group and its business operations financial status with a focus on maximizing return on invested capital, directing preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
- Performs metric analysis of financial data from financial statements including cost analysis, bad debt, gross profit, OI, ROWC, EBITDA, ROWC, and other measurements.
- Engages in negotiations with suppliers and customers to provide financial insights.
- Drives efforts to improve global reporting through efficient system enhancements and installations.
- Presentations and reporting - prepare and make presentations and report operating results to the Regional and Corporate Finance Committees.
- Lead and manage staff - provide leadership, training, and direction to a professional internal staff along with managing external vendors, banking and investment relations.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree (Accounting/Finance) with fifteen plus years hands-on experience as a Senior Financial Manager. MBA and/or CPA preferred
- Solid financial accounting, statement preparation and practical analytical skills. Prior experience in cash management forecasting and budgeting.
- Strong written and verbal skills. Interpersonal skills must include solid presentation skills along with a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with diverse constituents, internal staff, senior leadership, board members, investors, outside public accounting, legal, bank and other professionals.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective internal relationships, communicate and negotiate effectively, as well as analyze, interpret and summarize statistical data is needed.
- The ability to exercise sound, independent judgment in resolving problems without established guidelines is strongly preferred.
- Team player with strong interaction skills and the ability to identify, anticipate, respond to and meet business requirements at all levels. Very hands on, action-oriented self-starter with a high energy level and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- 8 years of progressive, responsible experience in a financial management environment
- 3 years of management experience
- Finance experience with marketing, supplier relationships, asset management, and/or Sales is preferred
- Knowledge or experience with the distribution industry or other relevant industry experience
