Victorian tertiary institutions (including TAFE institutes and universities) have a number of obligations under statutes and other subordinate instruments (for example Annual Reporting, Strategic Planning, and Ministerial/Department directions). This role will project manage delivery against these obligations that are part of both an annual cycle and also ad hoc, and identify and implement business improvements to all processes. Experience in working for the government is desirable.

Senior Project Officer - Project / Process Manager / Business Analyst

The role is located in the Tertiary Education Governance team. This team sits within TAFE and Tertiary Institutions (TTI) in Higher Education and Skills area of the Department of Education and Training.

The Tertiary Education Governance team is responsible for governance related matters within TTI. This includes:

• Managing governance arrangements for Victoria's 12 TAFE institutes and 8 public universities, including appointments to TAFE boards and university councils;

• Leading reforms to the governance arrangements for TAFE institutes and universities;

• Ensuring that TAFE institutes and universities are complying with relevant legislation and directions;

• Providing support to the Minister Training and Skills to enable him to meet his obligations, and appropriately exercise his powers, relating to TAFE institutes under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006, and relating to universities under their respective enabling legislation; and

• Coordinating annual strategic dialogues and annual reporting deliverables for TAFE institutes and universities.
