An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join Arup's Global Statutory Accounts Team to assist with the annual statutory reporting requirements of the Firm.

Based in London the Assistant Accountant will report to a qualified accountant and will be supporting the team, the role will include the following:
  • Assisting in the preparation of work in progress calculations for statutory reporting.
  • Assisting in the preparation of small UK registered company financial statements under FRS 101.
  • Liaising with auditors on UK company financial statement audits.
  • Producing and recording journals in the accounting system.
  • Assisting the team with ad-hoc duties.

Requirements and skills
  • Part qualified accountant actively working towards a professional accountancy qualification.
  • Proactive positive attitude and to be inquisitive.
  • Able to use initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work well on own and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Previous accounts preparation experience would be useful.
  • Has the ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver results to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Computer literate - working knowledge of Word, Teams (or similar) and SharePoint, and a strong knowledge of Excel (basic VBA skills would be useful).
  • Oracle JDE experience is useful but not essential.
