The Finance Manager Role

This role will provide financial and accounting support to the Highways projects delivered through the SRM Amey Joint Venture. Reporting into both the framework lead in respect of services provided to the SRM Amey JV and Financial Director, Reporting & Operations for Corporate financial reporting, forecasting and financial control.

You will work closely with the framework commercial lead, project commercial leads and the Amey finance department.

Responsibilities include:
  • Understanding how finance interlinks with the companies Environmental, Sustainability, and Quality
  • Working with SRM Central Finance to deliver robust reporting, forecasts, budgets and long-term plans.
  • Management of Regional working capital including detailed
  • Compliance with the drumbeat of tasks required by the Region and Joint ventures.
  • Timely provision of CPF Framework Data to key project teams.
  • Management of Project Bank Accounts and provision of data to the project teams.
  • Providing input for the continual improvement and development of the Regional business (including business supporting and tendering) and shares lessons learned and best practice to improve performance.


Your profile
  • Strong commercial project accounting experience ideally gained in the construction/civil engineering
  • Experience of cost reimbursable contracts.
  • Detailed operational knowledge of JDE/Oracle or similar in terms of functionality and capability and/or detailed knowledge of work
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of collaboration and the need to develop internal and external
  • Experience of planning and progressing work activities within professional guidelines and organisational policy, applying initiative and independent judgement.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of work practices policies and procedures, relevant to the role, which may include broader sector/commercial
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proven people management
  • Competent in MS Office applications.
  • Educated to Degree level with Associate membership of a recognised accounting qualification i.e. ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW
