Job Description Summary
Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Partner with HQ team to develop strategy and implement legal entity and company code simplification. Coordinate structural changes with regional controllership / operational finance teams to minimize disruption to business.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the current closing processes (quarterly and monthly) by centralizing and automating specific ERP processes.
  • Own overall Grid SW account reconciliation process including account reconciliation assignment, reduction in aged unreconciled account through root cause analysis and process improvement and provide key KPIs related to account reconciliation cycle in business.
  • Provide oversight of Grid SW closing and reporting process through engagement with HQ teams and proactively identify closing and reporting issues and resolution.
  • Support the global financial reporting process including balance sheet analysis and commentary.
  • Support migration of non-strategic ERPs to the SAP /Fusion financial system to minimize business disruption and impact on key reporting KPIs.
  • Provides cross functional support to enable key controllership initiatives and provide support for driving simplification and consistency initiatives around critical business processes.

    Individual contributor on Controllership priorities for the Grid SW business as well act as SME to the team
  • Provide analytics, data driven decision making and key insights to the GridSW business on controllership matters
  • Lead a team of individuals to deliver on GridSW Controllership priorities timely, consistently and of utmost quality


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 10 additional years of experience in a financial position
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong knowledge in Oracle Bravo and SAP financial systems
  • Strong proficiency in US GAAP, GE GAAP and authoritative accounting literature
  • Clear thinking/problem solving successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas
  • Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment
