General Accounting Specialist Responsibilities:
- Prepares various daily and monthly accounting functions.
- Prepares various accounting reports and standard journal entries in accordance with established accounting procedures; totals and balances accounts as required.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements; assists auditors in audit.
- Assists in month-end close processes, including bank reconciliations, general ledger auditing and preparing/posting journal entries.
- Assists with preparation or review of several monthly reconciliations
- Monitors accounts, collects data, and records information, as required or assigned.
- Performs duties in compliance with GAAP and SOX, and assists Controller with both internal and external auditors.
- Assist with year-end 1099 reporting
- Assist with bank / financial audits as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate's degree in accounting or related field, Bachelor's preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting, specifically general ledger and reconciliation
- Strong computer skills including Excel
- Microsoft Dynamics GP experience preferred
- Detail- and deadline-oriented
- Ability to thoroughly analyze and research information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
