General Summary:

The Accounting Assistant provides clerical and administrative accounting support to our Executive Assistant to the Director of Operations, which also includes collaboration between PALCS and our 3rd party accounting firm.

This position will report to our 1332 Enterprise Drive, West Chester, PA location.

Essential Job Functions:*

  • Deposits checks
  • Records transactions in Quickbooks
  • Reconcile bank accounts/credit card statements
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to upper level school management

Supportive Job Functions:

  • May assist in paying company's mortgages, leases, insurances, some reimbursements
  • May assist in submitting credit card authorization forms
  • Assist in annual audit
  • Provides account oversight and alerts Accounting Manager about any questionable transactions
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Quick books
  • Ability to follow established accounting policies and procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite especially Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and present viable solutions

Educational, Certification and/or Experience Requirement:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate Degree preferred
  • Experience in billing or accounting, educational setting preferred
  • Experience with maintaining records via a computerized database
