This role incorporates a diverse set of responsibilities, including budgeting (internal and external), revenue forecasting, financial management and reporting, resource management and procurement. You will be working closely with senior personnel and other internal and external stakeholders and will be called upon to provide professional advice as and when required.

The key duties of the position include:

The successful candidate will:
  • Lead, direct and deliver financial strategy, budgets, policy and accounting services, including internal, statutory, audit and other external reporting and the development of OPC's annual Portfolio Budget Statements.
  • Develop strategic goals and provide strategic financial and operational advice to senior management.
  • Lead and manage the team responsible for financial reporting; revenue forecasting; budget management; performance reporting; costing, analysis and reporting; and procurement.
  • Provide leadership in implementing and promoting change and continuous improvement, including oversight of review and communication of finance operational policies and procedures to reflect business activities.
  • Be an effective team leader, coaching, developing and managing the performance of employees in the team and embracing new approaches and delivery methods.
  • Maintain effective relationships a with internal and external stakeholders including the Australian National Audit Office, Department of Finance and Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.
  • Improve organisational performance through effective engagement with and management of risk within relevant sphere of influence.

  • Eligibility

    You must have an accounting/finance degree and be a CPA or CA (or working towards that status) and be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security level clearance.
