The Company

A Mining services organisation in the Western Suburbs have recently returned to the offices and are eagerly looking to secure a skilled Assistant Accountant for a 6-month FTC. Based within easy reach of public transport, you will quickly become a valued member of their finance team with plenty of variety to your daily tasks promising that no two days will be the same. Being immediately available will be necessary to be considered.

The Role

Prepare to be challenged by a high-volume workload and demanding deadlines. Your will be required to assist with the month end process, bank & GL reconciliations, and the preparation of monthly management accounts as well as a number of other adhoc duties.

It will be essential that you are flexible and able to adapt while reporting to the Company Accountant and working closely with the wider finance team.

Your Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field.
  • Additional qualifications such as CPA or CA is a plus.
  • At least 5 years' experience at an Assistant Accountant level.
  • Brilliant skills in Excel - vlookups and pivot tables
  • Proven experience of SAP or Oracle or a similar size ERP
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Programs.
  • Accounting experience in a publicly traded company a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Brilliant organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritise tasks.


About you

It will be necessary for you to be immediately available and as mentioned above have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in a similar environment. Your outstanding communication skills allow you to convey complex ideas to those with a non-financial background, and you have an excellent awareness of time management. Proven ERP and excel knowledge are highly desirable and a professional approach to your work is a must.
