Product Control Sr. Group Manager

Product Control is a global control function within Citi Finance and is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of a trading desk or business product. Product Control reports daily and monthly revenues and is responsible for key controls over data integrity and reconciliations, P&L and Balance Sheet reporting, P&L attribution analysis (PAA), new activity review, valuation control and some aspects of regulatory reporting.

In this leadership role, the candidate will be managing a key function within the Global Product Control Governance, Policy and Controls Team, which is responsible for a globally robust, consistent and efficient controls framework, effective control implementation and governance for Product Control. The candidate will also play a critical role in working with the Senior Leadership team to manage the interaction with US Regulators on matters related to Product Control

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Global Product Control Audit and Regulatory Oversight Team
• Key contact for Product Control with Regulators and Internal Audit
• Responsible for the issue management and corrective action process ensuring that there is a consistent approach across Product Control with clear accountability
• Point of contact for Product Control Senior Leadership team for any Regulatory or Audit issues
• Responsible for monitoring and tracking corrective action plans across Product Control
• Provide independent assurance and guidance for best practice in relation to regulatory and internal audit issues and partner with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage staff in other locations

Qualifications and Competencies

• Significant experience in capital markets, ideally with an Audit or Regulatory background
• Proven experience dealing with Regulators, Internal and external Auditors, senior governance forums as well as second and third line control functions.
• Dealing with Regulatory change and understanding key areas of Product Control focus for Regulators would be a distinct advantage as would experience of managing Regulatory exams.
• Strong controls mind-set; identifying and mitigating risks, communicating and escalating concerns
• Demonstrable people, project and change management skills
• Strong communication skills; ability to effectively present/influence large groups and to assess and critically challenge information and processes
• Competence leading dynamic, challenging environments while providing creative solutions
• Ability to collaborate across businesses, regions and control functions

Education:

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
