Accounts Assistant, Bagshot, to £25,000
Working for an established and growing local business, this job role reports to the Accounts Supervisor in a friendly and supportive team environment. It will suit someone with a couple of years (or more) of good all round Accounts Assistant / Ledger Clerk / Accounts Administrator type experience looking to put their varied skills to good use in a role that will offer eventual opportunities for development as the position has been created following a promotion.
The job itself will be focussed around purchase ledger processing and also on running the weekly and monthly staff payrolls for the particular business unit that will fall under your remit, as well as additional ad hoc Accounting duties in support of other members of the wider finance team.
Daily duties will include:
Batching, matching, coding and inputting purchase invoices on to the accounts system, reconciling supplier statements, preparing weekly and monthly BACS/cheque payments runs.
Producing and running the payroll for over 100 staff on a weekly and monthly basis.
Taking and resolving both external supplier AP and internal staff payroll queries.
This job will suit someone self-motivated with a muck-in, can-do attitude who is hard working and thoughtful, able to understand the consequences of their actions and how they affect the team and the business.
Whilst not essential, this role could fit someone studying for an AAT qualification - study support can be available after a qualifying period. In addition to your demonstrable Purchase Ledger skills, and previous Payroll experience would be extremely beneficial also (but is not essential).
Hours of work are 9-5.30 with an hour for lunch (you may be able to start / finish a little earlier if required). Other benefits include Healthcare, 20 days holiday and free on-site parking.
