Bookkeeper (Construction) - Part Time or Full Time

A highly regarded and growing chartered accountancy practice is searching for a full or part time (2.5 days) Bookkeeper to join their successful team,responsible for managing the finance function of one of their construction clients as their primary responsibilities and offering the opportunity to get involved in other areas of the practice for a full time opportunity covering bookkeeping,management accounts,vat returns,CIS and other service provisions.

Client Details

This successful firm of accountants, based in Maidstone is undergoing continued growth and has benefited from building strong long term valued relationships with its wide ranging client base, across varying industries and sizes of clients.

This role will be responsible for looking after the finance function of one of their constriction clients 2.5 days a week but also offers the opportunity to get involved in other areas of the practice too, although this is not a prerequisite.

Full time as well as part time working arrangements can be explored with the right candidate.

Description

Joining the firm, as a Bookkeeper, with occasional travel to St Pancras, you will carve a key, hands on role 2.5 days a week, managing the finance function for my client's construction client.

If you're looking for a full time position, you will have exposure to a handful of sole trader, partnerships and limited company clients across varying industries and turnovers undertaking the following responsibilities.

• Bookkeeping, VAT returns and Management Account service provision
• Account reconciliations
• CIS returns
• Purchase and Sales Ledger Processes
• Year End adjustments up to Trial Balance stage
• Opening balance adjustment
• Journals
• Converting new clients from existing systems
• Working on cloud accounting software and other systems such as Sage, Xero, Excel.
• Payroll

You will be required to travel to their client's premises in St Pancras occasionally.

Profile

You may be AAT qualified or CIMA part qualified but if supported by a relevant career history and technical skill set, a strong, relevant, experienced background only, is equally of interest, as well.

You will have anything from 3-5 years, or significantly more experience within accountancy practice ideally with demonstrable experience of delivering bookkeeping, VAT returns and management accounts services. Or you could be a self-employed bookkeeper seeking the stability of a permanent employed position.

Job Offer

£25,000 - £30,000 dependent on the background and experience of the right professional.

2.5,3,4 or 5 days a week.
