Accounting Analyst/Associate

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) was created to help foster social and economic development, create wealth and improve infrastructure connectivity in Asia by investing in sustainable infrastructure and other productive sectors. As a new addition to the global multilateral development bank (MDB) family, AIIB works closely with other multilateral and bilateral institutions as well as the private sector to improve infrastructure by promoting regional cooperation and partnerships. AIIB has 103 members, including 20 prospective members, and has an authorized capital of USD100 billion, of which USD20 billion is paid in. AIIB is a triple A-rated institution.

The Accounting Analyst/Associate will be involved in various accounting and financial reporting functions for the Office of the Controller , particularly the preparation of financial reports and maintenance of daily accounting duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily accounting duties, complete general ledger operations in the financial system (SAP), assist with period-end closing, reconciliations and other financial accounting duties.
  • Prepare analysis of accounts as requested, administer accounts receivable and accounts payable, and account/bank reconciliations, etc.
  • Review and process expense reports, assist in preparing periodic financial statements.
  • Prepare financial analysis on transactional movement at the trial balance level as well as the portfolio level and compare against historical performance for management report purposes.
  • Prepare general ledger adjustments before period-end closure.
  • Review the sub-ledger vs general ledger reconciliation results, investigate the reconciliation breaks and analyze on the variance.
  • Participate in IT system-related projects and process improvements.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and other accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant practical experience working in an international bank and/or large organization.
  • Analytical, problem-solver and solution provider, with a sound knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software and financial management systems (such as SAP).
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage competing deadlines, and capable of managing tight schedules.
  • Team player who can communicate for results.
  • A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation from a reputable and internationally recognized institution would be an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in related fields.
