Finance & Inventory Manager
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Basic Job Description:
This position is a leadership position in the department where set goals and targets are met on a continual basis, all the while seeking to constantly improve systems and protocols.
The Finance & Inventory Manager has to direct and coordinate financial activities using the departments' employees to ensure efficient management of inventory and finances are achieved as per the set schedule. This manager will hold responsibility for the staff which he/she directs and is charged with designing, testing, implementing and monitoring department policy in collaborating with the senior management team.
The function will include the responsibility of ensuring that the organization has optimal levels of stock and that it is monitored as prescribed by protocol. It is also a critical task to ensure that the qualities of goods that are delivered to the organization and also to confirm that they are still in excellent condition before they are shipped out to the customer.
Basic Job Duties
1)
Establish and maintain the parameters of the department function.
2)
Establish the activities of the department staff.
3)
Establish control procedures to ensure task coverage and reporting timelines.
4)
Evaluate information produced with a view to improving department productivity.
5)
Perform analytical studies on the general Ledger and the sub ledgers ensuring accuracy.
6)
Coordinate the approvals of lines of credit for customers through collaboration with the management team.
7)
Manage the audit preparation and protocol functions.
8)
Develop and analyze information to access financial health of the company and design and implement strategies to achieve success.
9)
Assist in budget planning.
10)
Evaluate accounting procedures, collection procedures and make recommendations to improve same with a view to achieving set objectives.
11)
Assist with the cash management strategies.
12)
Maintain a risk register
13)
Oversee insurances for the organization.
14)
Oversee staff in branch offices where necessary.
15)
Present monthly management accounts on a timely basis.
16)
Valuate employees within the department and setting performance standards.
17)
Identify trends in the market place.
18)
Submit delinquent accounts to attorneys or outside agencies for collection.
19)
Oversee administrative office function.
20)
Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
21)
Prepares bond documentation for jobs
22)
Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
23)
Responsible for directing the flow of goods into, through and out of the organization's storage facilities.
24)
Achieve zero inventories without jeopardizing the lean operations management process (Adjusting where necessary)
25)
Implement and check routine inventory costs that impact KPIs and regularly communicate outcomes, ensuring that established measured daily, weekly and monthly KPIs are done and reported
26)
Any other duties assigned.
