We are recruiting for a Finance Manager on behalf of an expanding company in Maidenhead, engaged in services infrastructure design and installation for prestigious clients in the UK and Europe.
The key function of this role will be to strengthen and enhance the quality and depth of financial reporting/analysis and to implement a robust business process for project management and budgetary control for this owner managed SME business.
Reporting to the directors, responsibilities of the Finance Manager will include:
* Manage the finance department on a day to day basis
* Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions
* Develop system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts, defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
* Maintain, reconcile and balance subsidiary
* Preparing accounts to trial balance
* Prepare financial reports
* Aged debtors - to manage the credit control process
* Preparing monthly payroll, VAT and year end procedures
* Improving the governance and day to day communication between the Project Managers in relation to costs, labour and materials
To be a serious contender for this position, you will satisfy the following criteria:
* Have at least five years' accounting /financial experience gained within an SME
* Ability to effectively manage the accounts department of a busy company
* Be confident in managing workload within the team
* Have excellent written and verbal communications skills
* Be IT literate; competent with MS Office and Sage
