Meraki Talent have been engaged to assist with the onboarding of a Senior Accounts Assistant - P/Q Accountant for their Chartered Accountancy client in Central Glasgow.
The Company
Our client is one of Scotland's oldest and most well-established Chartered Accountancy firms. They have been leading the way across the Scottish marketplace for over 100 years and do not look like stopping any time soon. They currently provide Accountancy services in the fields of Audit, Business Advisory, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning, Insolvency and Tax. They now seek to add to their growing Business Advisory team with a Senior Accounts Assistant.
The Role
The role of Senior Accounts Assistant has become available as the business goes through a sustained period of growth across several of its service channels, making this an exciting time to join a leading practice.
As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you will report directly to the Manager within the Business Advisory team. You will be fully responsible for your own client portfolio, managing both client and management expectations whilst working to tight deadlines. This role would suit newly qualified ACCA, part qualified ACCA or applicants who are qualified through experience. ACCA training support available for successful candidates after completion of probationary period
Duties and Responsibilities
Experience
For the role of Senior Accounts Assistant, the below criteria are Essential.
Experience of Accounts preparation from start to completion
Experience with accounts preparation software, eg, CCH
Experience with software for document management, tax computation, workflow
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, 365 suites especially Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
Experience with Cloud bookkeeping software's such as Xero, Sage Business Cloud and QuickBooks Online

- Full responsibility of your own dedicated portfolio of clients
- Statutory accounts preparation
- Preparation of tax computations
- Liaise and advise with portfolio of clients throughout the year, during the accounts preparation, and for any other business
- Going over and above to ensure clients receive a consistent and excellent service
- Effectively plan your workload to ensure completed on time and on budget
Experience
