Semi Senior Accountant - Cloud Accounting Team

No judging from us in the Cloud Accounting team, we get it, it’s what we do. . .. that and get excited about tech, Xero and its add-on partners.

Picture this, you would be joining a top 50, 20 Partner practice, although there are 165 people in the office you would be joining a well-established Cloud Accounting team of 8 during a time of growth. The whole team support a vast array of different businesses across numerous industry sectors. 

From the get-go you will be working towards having responsibility for your own portfolio of clients. Preparing and reviewing client VAT and basic corporate tax returns, reviewing client records and overseeing work going to the outsourced team in India, reviewing the returned work, preparing and drafting unaudited accounts (Statutory and Management Accounts) as well as dealing with queries from clients. All your experience will be fully utilised and there won’t ever be a dull moment, we can promise you that. 

The Cloud Accounting team are growing and need someone like you, a 'XeroHero’ (cape not compulsory) who is keen to continue studying and progressing up the career ladder! There is a chance you are already AAT qualified and maybe even have a handful of ACA/ACCA exams under your belt, either way you are ready to move to a firm that is happy to support future studies, provides bespoke development plans to support development and a healthy work life balance to boot.

As with any job we think there are a few things that would help you succeed from the start, these include:

• Experience in a similar job – happy undertaking VAT returns, tax returns, bookkeeping and drafting accounts (Statutory and Management) 
• VAT – did we mention VAT experience? This will take up a fair bit of your time
• Managing conflicting deadlines - you might not have worked within an accountancy practice but experience of looking after more than one company hopefully means the conflicting deadlines won’t faze you and you can balance internal and external demands
• Xero experience – This is our software of choice, if you are Xero certified we might even do a little happy dance this end
• Accounting software - if you have experience of working with other systems including CCH, Viztopia, Digita Personal Tax, Digita Accounts, Pro-audit, VPM, SAGE etc we still want to hear from you!
• Working towards an accountancy qualification – maybe you are already AAT qualified and are keen to keep studying
• Excel – this is a bit of a given for this type of job role, but if you love working your magic with formulas, V-Look Up and all the other mastery Excel is capable of you will fit in well here
• Communication skills - being able to chat with everyone, from demanding clients and trainees in your team who need a little support with something they are working on to giving clear instructions to the outsourcing team you need this as a skill
• Team player - sounds a bit cheesy but within our Cloud Accounting team everyone plays a part in the client journey
