A very interesting and commercial focused department is looking for an experienced Finance Manager for a 6 month contract to cover an internal secondment. A leading, hard working and collaborative team.
Your new role
This contract role focuses on both statutory and management reporting and leads a team of two.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a CA/CPA qualified Finance Manager with experience of working in a NSW state Government department. You must be able to meet tight reporting deadlines, provide strategic advice and influence stakeholders to ensure objectives are met. Experience of leading the management and statutory reporting cycle for a government department is highly regarded. Only those immediately available or on short notice periods will be considered.
What you'll get in return
A contract for at least 6 months, with the chance of extension paying between $700 - $790 per day + super depending on experience.

Your new role

- Duties will include management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, monthly reviews and reporting for multiple business units to senior management.
- The successful candidate will be required to collate financial information from diverse commercial and budget dependent business operations and contribute to the development of financial solutions that will support and enhance business outcomes.
- The position requires technical ability that can support the audit process and ensure the right controls and compliance is in place. You will also need to have an understanding of AASB 16 and be familiar with its impact.
- You will need to have highly developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to manage a team and meet strict deadlines.
