DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking an experienced Accountant based in Bangalore, IN, to join a special projects team. This team is responsible for growing an innovative project that informs larger company strategic decisions.
The Accountant will be hands-on and have an entrepreneurial spirit / start-up mindset as they support the operational accounting of a global team, which includes day-to-day management of financial accounts, indirect tax support, and annual audit support. They will provide analytical support for key business decisions and participate in strategic planning. They will prepare key metrics and weekly, monthly, quarterly finance reporting as well as support processes for analyzing performance to understand business variations.
This role will be a good fit if you:

• Are highly analytical, detail oriented, and have solid accounting knowledge
• Have experience in Oracle and other accounting software such as QuickBooks
• Have in-depth knowledge of Indian GAAP, IND_AS, Companies Act, and compliance requirements
• Basic level understanding of tax laws
• Are passionate about owning solutions and solving issues
• Are able to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise way
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Own operational accounting for multiple countries worldwide - day-to-day management of financial accounts, indirect tax support, and annual audit support
• Own IN accounting/compliance and build/maintain relationships with Amazon Finance, Legal, Accounting, and Tax teams
• Support in ongoing financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting
• Perform deep dive analysis to understand drivers of business
• Work with other teams to ensure our financial reporting is in sync with other systems
• Participate in the business and improve processes to grow the business
• Support tax teams by providing audited FS, other documents for tax compliance
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in accounting or related field with sufficient experience to sit for the CPA exam (a CPA license is not required for this position)
• 3+ years of accounting experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• CPA / Indian CA (or equivalent)
• Experience with start-up, entrepreneurship
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Financial acumen including familiarity with forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and related skills
• Experience working with large-scale data mining tools (e.g., SQL and/or Cognos TM1)
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and taking ownership of multiple priorities to drive projects to completion
• Experience with finance in business such as E-Commerce, Retail, Retail Operations Finance
• High attention to detail and comfortable dealing with ambiguity and taking action
