Role Summary
This entry level position will introduce the candidate to Corporate Accounting at a large multi-national organization. This position will be responsible for maintaining multiple corporate entities and holding companies. In addition, the incumbent will maintain the Corporate Fixed Asset Sub-ledger and update monthly & quarterly management report schedules. Short-term and longer-term projects will expose the candidate to all facets of the business. This is a progressive position with opportunities to grow into other roles within the department and the rest of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Create & post journal entries for multiple Corporate entities and holding companies
• Reconcile intercompany and other specific accounts
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management report schedules
• Compile HST remittances
• Prepare daily bank entries and reconciliations
• Maintain Fixed Asset Sub-ledger and generate journal entries
• Compile monthly invoices
• Performs all job functions abiding by the office/work standards as outlined in the company handbook
• Assist in other duties as required
Key Qualifications/Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the accounting field
• Pursuing a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) with intermediate knowledge of Excel
• Accounting software experience - AccPac and / or Hyperion knowledge would be a plus
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Responsible, works well independently as well as in a team
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and affiliates
• Attention to detail and self motivated
• Analyze data and focus on continuous improvement
• Be organized and troubleshoot problems
• Obtain or provide routine information
• Overtime as required
